Instead of class, we had a guest speaker, Josh, who is a civil engineer that designs and inspects bridges. He gave a great presentation about what exactly he does and the type of courses he took in school to get to where he is right now. One of his exciting future projects is a public park in Philly that will be a bridge that crosses over the highway. It was just very fascinating seeing the design concept behind building a bridge and before I decided on my career path, I was interested in civil engineering so it was refreshing to see him describe a job that I would absolutely enjoy.
