Today I looked at an article Mr. Wagoner shared with me: Mini Maglev Train Demonstration – Superconductors, magnetic fields, liquid Nitrogen and a whole load of fun! The article started off by giving a bit of history about the first Maglev patent which was filed and awarded by Alfred Zehden, a German inventor, in 1905. The author shared that understanding Maglev is far more than the fascination of two magnets repelling against each other creating motion within a track. It requires the knowledge of suspension, the type of tracks, propulsion, stability controls, guidance systems, speed, efficiency and safety which is all made possible through technology. Because of the technological advancements of today’s world, “Maglev trains are here to stay”.
