We finally received the pictures from our trip to Consolidated Scrap Resources CSR on October 23 (check the blog)! Throughout the tour, we were not permitted to take pictures; however, our tour guide was kind enough to snap some shots of the facility! Below are some of the pictures and explanations of what is going on in the photo.

Behind us are the bails of recycled plastic cans that are brought in by consumers in exchange for cash based on the total weight of the cans. I was shocked by how large and tall the bails stood! Not pictured are about 2 more bails stacked on top!
This is what most of the facility grounds looked like. Pictured is a car in the grasp of the claw about to be taken through the shredding process which shreds the car into tiny pieces within 3-5 seconds and sorts the scraps based on type. The non-magnetic pieces are then thrown down a shoot and into a growing pile!
This is me and my friend Morgan just before heading in to watch the entire shredding process! We were able to see the process of a car being shredded, its pieces being sorted as a man also goes in by hand to pull out certain metals, and then the metal is sorted into magnetic and non-magnetic.
