Looking over yesterdays progress, I realized I need to emphasize a few factors that are apart of the creation of the liquid nitrogen cooled levitating superconductor train. Specifically for the track seen is yesterdays post, F30105 magnets (neodymium magnets) are used to create the “track” which are resting on a steel sheet. With the presence of the magnets, the Meissner Effect takes place as small electrical current flow near the surface of the superconductor (the train) creates an opposite magnetic field. The train is then constantly repelled away from the track (magnets) that it is resting on. To create movement, the magnets are placed in an alternating pattern as in north, south, north, south. This means that the magnet is constantly repelling away from the magnet it is resting above creating upwards levitation and away from the magnet it just passed creating forwards levitation.
