Today was a great day of progress and brainstorming! After a recent weekend trip to Costco, thoughts and ideas were put into perspective. Experiencing it firsthand, I can say that weekend grocery trips are always hectic as stores are more crowded which the experience is then made more difficult when your grocery cart is unfunctional and broken but it is too late to switch since your mom is already loading in produce. Another problem I ran into was the difficulty of pushing a heavy cart while making turns or going around other shoppers. I came to a realization that the best possible solution to these problems would be magnetic levitating shopping carts that would haul up to a certain weight and would require a minimum amount of force in order for the cart to continue moving forward. New questions arise such as how to create a magnetic floor without the shopping carts sticking to it, what find of magnetic force is needed, should the floor be one big magnet or should it follow a track, etc. As a new idea is proposed, it comes with follow-up problems. One idea may solve one issue but then it is creating another.
